Welcome to Granny Mo's Tea Room

Granny Mo's tea room..the only place to be!The Canal Wharf, Bradford on Avon is a focal point of this delightful town in a very unspoilt part of Wiltshire. The wharf is alongside the Kennet and Avon Canal and is a hive of activity. Countless visitors, cyclists, hikers and of course boaters come to this picturesque setting in this delightful town.

Within easy reach of Bath and Trowbridge by road or along the towpath it is not to be missed. The constant water traffic, a mixture of privately owned and holiday craft congregate at the wharf awaiting their turn to move through the lock. All day long the lock gates are wound open and shut, boats moving up and down as they journey along the canal.

Granny Mo'sGranny Mo's tea room, as seen on the Alan Titchmarsh TV programme in 2007 is situated on the upper wharf at Bradford on Avon, a lovely place to sit outside and enjoy a relaxing meal or a refreshing drink alongside the working and living canal whilst enjoying the marvellous view of the lock, Wynding Hole (an extra wide part of the canal designed to allow the canal boats to turn around) and the dry dock.

Feed the swans!

Swans feed from your hand, moorhens love to finish your crumbs and do not be surprised to see 'Doris and Boris' the ducks enter the tea room with their brood as they too like to sample the delights that is Granny Mo's. Just a word of caution, they have not quite yet fully taken onboard the art of queuing in an orderly fashion, so please be ready to wait whilst Granny Mo tends to these rather fussy customers! Why not sit inside

Alternatively or during inclement weather sit inside the tea room at an old boater's table or have a comfy seat on one of the sofas. It is cosy and homely and you cannot fail to notice that it is a little part of Cornwall here in the heart of England, in fact the tea room would not be out of place in Tregajorran!!

A proper Cornish Pasty!

If you time it well you may even be able to sample Granny Mo's famed proper Cornish Pasties! Be prepared to be amazed as the tea room is full of surprises with lots to see such as local artists work, crafts and plenty of bric-a-brac.

Please note that unfortunately Granny Mo does not have the facility to take Debit/Credit Cards
